I had been overweight for most of my life. I got "chubby" in middle school and it only got worse as the years went on. I yo-yo'd through a few diets, but I was well over 200 pounds for most of my adult life and at only 5' 5", that was way too much. My poor eating habits combined with no exercise also left me wide open for injuries. I had 2 back injuries that both landed me on the operating table within 10 months of each other (December 2012 & October 2013).
October 2018 - I had just turned 38 years old and I was at 230lbs, the heaviest weight that I had been my entire life. Every year, we pick a new word for our family to be praying specifically to God for, and I decided that our word for 2019 was going to be "Fit". I wanted to be physically and mentally fit so that I can serve God and my family to the fullest. At this point, I had never lifted weights and didn't know how to use any equipment in a gym. I knew that I couldn't do this on my own, so I decided to hire a coach to help give me the knowledge and accountability to be successful. Victory Strength has been all of those things and more. One year later, I have lost 60 pounds and gained an incredible amount of strength. I feel better than ever, I'm stronger than ever, and I'm confident in gym. And one of the biggest accomplishments for me is when I'm playing with my 12 year old son, he gets worn out and is ready to quit before I am!
